Now Hiring: Experienced Residential Home Inspector (Full-Time)

  • Location: San Francisco Bay Area

  • Position Type: Full Time

We are currently seeking an experienced Residential Home Inspector to join our team. This is a full-time opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a background in residential and light commercial inspections.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience performing home inspections with a history of producing comprehensive, high-quality reports

  • Certification from a recognized inspection association such as CREIA, ASHI, or InterNACHI

  • Familiarity with residential and light commercial properties

  • Proficiency in writing clear, professional reports using inspection software (Spectacular preferred)

  • Valid California driver’s license and reliable transportation

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Professional appearance and demeanor
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience conducting Wood-Destroying Organism (WDO) inspections and preparing associated reports, including recommendations for treatments and corrective actions

  • Active Branch 3 Field Representative license issued by the California Structural Pest Control Board

  • Knowledge of current California real estate disclosure requirements and industry standards of practice

  • Ability to efficiently manage time and perform independently in the field
     

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough residential home inspections in accordance with industry best practices and NBI’s high standards

  • Conduct structural pest inspections and identify wood-destroying organisms and conditions conducive to infestation

  • Clearly communicate findings to clients, real estate professionals, and NBI office staff

  • Prepare detailed and well-documented written reports using NBI’s proprietary software

  • Maintain a professional demeanor while representing NBI in the field

Additional Career Opportunity: Licensed Pest Inspectors Seeking Home Inspection Training
 

NBI is also actively seeking Branch 3 Field Representatives who may not yet have experience in home inspections but are eager to expand their expertise. If you are a licensed structural pest inspector with a desire to build a new skillset in home inspections, we offer pathways to help you grow.

 

We provide structured, hands-on training in home inspection standards, report writing, and industry best practices. This is a great opportunity to enhance your career and offer clients a broader range of inspection services.

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • An active Branch 3 Field Representative license issued by the California Structural Pest Control Board

  • A keen attention to detail and a strong observational skillset

  • Interest in learning the home inspection process, including residential and light commercial properties

  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce organized, client-ready reports

  • A professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with clients and real estate agents
