Proactive & Maintenance Inspections: NBI’s Proactive & Maintenance Inspections focus on common elements of the property that often need attention, including:
• Property Site: Includes sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fences, site drainage, and other features.
• Building Exterior: Includes siding, decks, balconies, elevated walkways, windows, and other features.
• Roof Covering: Includes flashings, gutters and downspouts and chimneys and flue
• Termite/WDO: Items that have or are deemed likely to cause damage to the wooden structural members of the building due to infestations of pests (termites or beetles) or infections of wood destroying organisms (fungus).
Above all else, do not allow your property to be inspected by anyone that offers to repair the damage or treat the infestation found. Inspectors that perform corrective work on the properties they inspect are frequently paid on commission or profit sharing based upon the amount of corrective work they can sell. It's false economy to select an inspection company based upon their inspection fee only. Often times a "FREE" or "LOW PRICED" inspection is far more expensive than a fairly priced inspection from an unbiased inspection firm!
